Advanced Geoscience, Inc. is an international geoscience field services and consulting firm based in Los Angeles, California and Reno, Nevada USA. Our business operations include subsurface geophysical and geological investigations, and groundwater, mineral, and oil and gas exploration. We also perform near-surface geophysical surveys for geotechnical studies and underground construction operations, as well as the non-destructive evaluation of earth structures such as dams, levees, tunnels, harbor bulkheads, and concrete piles and foundations.

We are geophysicists, geologists, and hydrogeologists who offer an innovative approach to exploration and solving subsurface problems, utilizing seismic, ground penetrating radar, and electrical resistivity imaging as well as other state-of-the-art geophysical and geological technology. We have a record for providing results on a timely basis.

Since our firm was established in 1997 we have completed numerous successful subsurface investigations at sites through the Western US and the world. We have performed seismic reflection surveys to investigate dams and bridges in California, Arizona, and Hawaii, and tunneling projects such as the Chilca Power Plant mirco-tunneling in Peru, San Francisco water tunnel, Los Angeles Metro Rail subway tunnels, and the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Ocean Outfall Tunnel. We have performed seismic reflection surveys to help investigate active earthquake faulting at numerous proposed building sites in California. We have also completed deep electrical resistivity profiling at sites in the Western US and East Africa to explore for groundwater and mineral resources.

Advanced Geoscience has also set up and performed deeper seismic reflection surveys for mineral and oil and gas exploration projects in California and Nevada.

We routinely perform smaller-scale seismic, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and multi-sensor geophysical surveys (using magnetic and electromagnetic techniques) to locate near-surface voids (cavities), tunnels, underground pipelines, buried concrete structures, abandoned well casings, and other underground structures. Our experience with waveform analysis and digital signal processing has also taken us into the business of evaluation of concrete integrity of earth structures, using concrete-scanning radar, and sonic pulse echo, impact echo, surface waves, and impulse response techniques.

Using “geophysical engineering” we provide innovative, practical solutions for subsurface exploration and non-destructive evaluation of earth structures.
